The goal is revealed after Nottingham emerges as sixth leading national conferencing destination in the UK Conference Market Survey

Nottingham has unveiled plans to become one of the UK's top three conference destinations by 2010.

The target was set after Nottingham was named the sixth "leading national conferencing destination" in the UK Conference Market Survey, carried out by the Meetings Industry Association.

Experience Nottinghamshire tourism leader Helen Sisson said: "The Nottinghamshire Convention Bureau will fly the flag at key national exhibitions like Confex and Event UK in 2009, targeting the association and corporate sectors in particular. We'll also be looking to target potential ambassadors for Nottingham who are closely related to the core city business clusters such as medicine and bio-science."
