Nik Račić M.Sc, Director of the Croatian Conference and Incentive Bureau was elected as President of the world’s most important organisation for tourist managers.
At the 70th Skål world congress in Budapest, Nik Račić M.Sc, Director of the Croatian Congress and Incentive Bureau was elected as President of Skål International the most important international association of travel and tourism professionals.
Skål International was founded in 1934 in Paris and today operates through 500 clubs in 90 countries with more than 20,000 members – tourist managers. Considering that it gathers managers from all sectors of the tourist industry (DMC’s, congress centres, hoteliers, professional congress organizers, transportation, tourist agencies, tour operators, etc.), Skål International is a unique global organisation. The basic principles underlying Skål International’s operations are to develop business relations and friendship between members, to promote and support the development of sustainable and responsible tourism, and to advance quality in tourism.

Skål International is a member and a vice president of UNWTO business council (United Nations World Tourism Organization). Skål International is a member of work group Preventing Child Abuse in Tourism and a member of the Management Board of the Code of conduct, created as a result of the group activities.
Nik Račić was European Manager of the year for conventions and incentives – IBTM Geneva 1999. He has organized more than 250 international meetings and incentives in Croatia, and 450 site inspection visits, workshops, road shows and presentations. He was also the organizer behind the appearance of the Croatian National Tourist Board and Croatian Convention and Incentive Bureau at more than 800 trade shows worldwide. As a Director of Skål International responsible for Business Affairs, he formed collaborations between Skål International and IMEX, EIBTM Reed Company and IT-ME Chicago trade shows, and has been in long term cooperation with most important publications and media. He has also organized many international congresses, incentive forums and educational seminars.
He is a member of SKÅL INTERNATIONAL, SITE, ICCA, Destination marketing Association International and has been a speaker at many international congresses and forums of SITE, ICCA, ALPE-ADRIA and CENTRAL EUROPEAN INITIATIVE.
The election of Nik Račić as the President of Skål International is a recognition of his long term successful work in the development of Croatian and international tourism, especially in the meetings, incentives and events market.
